Adeola was born on the 9th January 1980 to Mr Victor Ademola (late) and Mrs Patience Funso Wojuola in St Philomena Hospital, Benin City, Nigeria. The first girl in the family, she had a special placement between her two brothers and her two younger sisters. She attended St Clare’s Nursery and Primary school, Osogbo before moving to Tinumola Nursery and Primary school where she completed her primary education. For her secondary education, she started first from Fakunle Comprehensive High School, Osogbo and completed at Olivet Baptist High School, Oyo.
Adeola entered the boarding school at a tender age, which made frequent visits by daddy who called her “Adedemi” necessary. She finished school with excellent grades that made it possible for her to pass her JAMB and secure admission into Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife where she joined her elder brother “Boda Kola”. Her being admitted for accounting was supernatural, evidenced by the divine favor she encountered as she sorted out the admission process, and it was a sharp departure from the “norm” of the Sciences her Daddy and her two brothers took after.
She became a committed member of SCM (Student Christian Movement) fellowship throughout school and maintained a study life balance that enabled her to pass out with a good GPA. Her graduation was a joyful day for the family as her elder brothers studied six and five years respectively and thus all three graduates shared almost the same dates that year.
She had always wanted to work in Lagos and by the favor of God once again after her service year she got a job with UBA. Meeting her hubby, Taiwo was the greatest highlight of her life as her dad and mum had prayed consistently for a God fearing spouse for all their children and especially for her, being the first girl.
Adeola met Taiwo during their Master’s program at Obafemi Awolowo University and they got married in 2005. The Lord blessed the marriage with three wonderful girls- Aanu, Tamilore and Ireoluwa . Deola and her husband’s shared passion in banking and accounting sciences contributed to their bond.
Together, they pursued and obtained different degrees and certifications in the accounting field. Her dogged determination to be the best in her profession rubbed off on the success of the companies she worked for in Nigeria as she was driven with the enthusiasm of an entrepreneur as well as a great concern for achievement.
In January 2022, Deola was admitted for a Master of Business Administration in Strategic Project Management at the Edinburgh Napier University in the United Kingdom. She obtained the certificate on the 6th of October, just a few days before she passed on to glory on the 9th of October 2023 in her UK residence after her illness which she tenaciously fought till the end.
Deola was an ordained deaconess in the Redeemed Church of God, where she has served for the last … years. ( Taiwo please fill in her ministry details) Her kind heart, gentle disposition and great love for her kids, husband and family was her hallmark.
She is survived by her husband, children, mother and siblings.
